The minimum duration of studies for a Ph.D. degree is six (6) semesters from the date of the candidate's enrolment in the Programme, whereas the maximum duration is twelve (12) semesters (i.e., six years). Under special circumstances, the Graduate General Assembly of the Department, on the recommendation of the candidate's supervisory 3-member committee, may approve an extension for up to 16 semesters.
