Learning Outcomes

Students after the end of the class should be able to:

  • Understand the complex relationship of humans and the environment and theories on the nature of this relationship
  • Know the basic principles of the emergence of agriculture and animal husbandry

  • Be familiarized with the global agrofood system and its problems and challenges

  • Be familiarized with land management peculiarities in the Mediterranean and Greece

  • Be able to produce a small scientific paper

(3) Syllabus

Introduction and methods of analysis of agricultural systems and land management. Understanding of rural society and farm systems change and dynamics. Focus on Mediterranean land management systems. Presentation of the global agrofood systems and its challenges and issues. Special mention to Greek farming systems
